> NEW PARK DOWN SOUTH? MAYBEEEEEEE !
Yes....yes....yes....
Down south is gettin a new park...Not that much info for ya'll at the moment, cept' it's gonna be about 2 minutes from me' home (woooo-hoooooooo)
Will update as I get more info from the powers that be (the council)
Part of the blurb from the council...
"Skateboarding is a well established recreational activity for young paople (hey' what about us oldies, heh-heh) & the Council has decided to build a skatepark to provide a safe & controlled environment for this popular activity.
The building of the skatepark is expected to start towards the end of the year. It is one component of the councils larger plans for this park. Other plans include changes to the playground & picnic facilities in the Northern end of the park."
I am not going to mention the park yet, 2 reasons - one not to get any1's hopes up, & 2 - to hopefully see some vert on the plans...Will be speakin' to the council planner / project manager today, & will fill in more info' as it comes to hand.
But, for all us Southerners' we have been waitin' quite a while & it looks promising...hey rollerball ! Wherever you get the Leader on ya' doorstep, u must be in gods country, lol...

Bicentennial Park in Rockdale, on the cusp of Brighton...
Cant' wait...
(huge parcel of land there, & it's a fairly financial council as well)...yeeeee-hahhhhhhhhhh
Hopefully it'll be better than the ol' donut at Kempt field, heh-heh-heh

Spent some good times there as a little tacker.
So, it's going ahead? Where is the project up to? Got plans or money or anything going?
It will be HOT to see a decent skatepark in sydney's southern suburbs. Let's keep chat away from designing this one!!!!!!Iam hoping with the right people involved that we finally see something along the lines of a oregon style skatepark.SOMETHING THAT CATERS TO EVERYONE.
some guy came up to me from the council when i was at menai the other day and asked what i liked about the park there and said theyre buildin one in rockdale...hopefully it not at all lilke menai
