> COLLINGWOOD PARK SKATEPARK - QLD
Just posting some pics of the Collingwood Park skatepark so that the skateparks section can be updated. It has been open for over 18 months It is fairly basic at the moment but already we have plans for extending it to include more street features and either a bowl or larger halfpipe. Also we are adding some features into the design which will help BMX-proof the facility.
With Collingwood Park, Riverview almost complete, Bundamba, Redbank Plains, Springfield and the big skatepark planned for Goodna, we have a nice concentration of skateparks all within a 10km radius. How about a bit of promo action from the retailers, suppliers and manufacturers?
Sounds like a promising idea.
I cannot believe i managed to miss the QLD in capital letters and was all HUH! i dont recall a new park in collingwood melbourne.
Hey, Is that Redbank Plains? Or Collingwood?
And what do you mean by "promo action"? You want people to promote the fact the parks exist?

Pretty well straight down Ipswich Rd from the city, About 20 minutes driving I guesstimate...
Sausago, I was suggesting that the retailers/distributers dig deep and spend some money on promotion of their products by sponsoring comps or giving away some stuff. Its usually a win win thing for everyone except the tight bastards who don't bother.

Whats the closest shop to that area?? Are there any out redbank way?
There is a surf shop called surf vision at redbank plaza which carries a decent range of skate gear especially products distributed by kwala. I might have a talk with the manager seeing as their shop is less than 1 km from two skateparks.
Park is right opposite the Redbank plaza, on the same side of the Ipswich Motorway.
We always called it "Redbank" but I know when we put up the parks, the Collingwood Park suburb is what it is listed under.

For running comps and events, talk to Vince from Goodna Youth Services about comps and things, as we have been working towards it for a while, as per the usual Springfield comps which we hold every year - lots of help from Rob at Skatebiz, Brisbane CBD.
It would be good to have the local shop on board for prizes or skate product, as this is the main cost involved in running events if you cannot get it free.
Even drop me an email and I can talk to you about getting something happening.
