St Kilda Skatepark desperately needs your help


St Kilda skatepark is in its very final stage of approval but we desperately need your help to get through the very last stage.
As many people know the skaters in St Kilda have been battling local residents to get the park built. We have a realy good convic design, with a rad bowl and plaza. If this park goes ahead skaters will come from all over
to skate and its positioning will see it become one of Australias more prominent parks.

The go ahead will depend on the skatepark getting as much support as possible at the last council meeting. Unfortunately in the park the opposition has been strong and they have resorted to dirty tricks and
scaremongering to drum up opposition to the park in the community. They have been quoted in the local papers that the skatepark will bring violence, drugs and anti social behaviour to St Kilda... they have stopped at nothing to scare the local residents as much as they can. The local school, whos principal is anti skatepark, has even tried its best to get the local kids to protest the skatepark, as well as the scool kids parents. As you can see, this potentially insanely rad skatepark project realy needs as much support as possible at its final meeting.

Anyway, we need as many people as possible to do these three things below

1. Write a quick email saying (just cut and paste this... also it doesnt matter where your from, just lend your hand to a good cause and do it):

I support the proposed St Kilda skatepark at the current proposed location
in ST Kilda.
(and then your name)

The reason we need this is because the opposition has had 350 letters of opposition. We need to try and get 500 to overwhelmingly get the park

2. This next one is realy inmportant and if you live close by it would be so sick ......Turn up at the meeting with as many crew possible. (too make it fun, why not grab your homies to go skate and cruise to the meeting after,
or grab your mates, go to the meeting, and then go eat in St Kilda after) Its only a small investment of time if you help us.. you will be able to skate ST Kilda for years to come, but if people dont go to the meeting we
wont get the park. The meetings time and location is:

Port Phillip Council
( the old St Kilda Town Hall)
Cnr Brighton Rd & Carlisle St
East St Kilda Monday 23 rd April at 5.30.
You need to be there by Five.



3. The last thing you can do to help is Text, email or tell as many of your mates about it


This stage of the game is realy the last in the process of getting St Kilda park built. So far, at every turn of events in the process the skaters have out numbered the opposition but it is so important that we win the last
stage by sending these emails, and attending the meeting. If all goes well the park will be finished December. Tell your mates. This park will be sick,
lets make sure we get it!!!!

Good luck with the park Renton, but perhaps some of the negativity being directed at the park has something to do with its close proximity to Assland.

yer i sent that e-mail off a while back and recently got a letter asking if i wanted to talk at the meeting or sumthing, did any1 else get that letter??

this is so chat, ive lived in albert park my whole life, NOW that were moving out soon the park finally reaches the final stages before its built.. sweet!
