> HOW COME AMERICAN PARKS DONT HAVE GRAFFITTI?

i dunno if anyone has said this yet but it is because the parks in america are privatly owned and you would have to jump a fence to get to it unlike most parks in australia where we can just walk down to the park and roll out a can...
At my local, the council in their wisdom, has set aside a couple of legal walls. The graff jobs are fuckin wicked. This is lawson. They also go hard on cleaning the graff off skateable surfaces. Council's can be so good sometimes.
I agree with Michael about the anti-graff shit, I've had really nice stacks on ramps because of that shit. Also it seems like the only people who graff parks aren't there to skate or bmx
Someone graffed the chadstone park a while ago (before it was repainted) and it was shit. It looked shit and was shit. In fact, I've never been to a park in Vic that's had a piece worth looking at.
When people go out of their way and have talent it looks good, but most of it just looks like crap and done by people that couldn't skate and stole a spray can or paint pen.
Prahran had some pretty rad things in the old bowl in the late 80's.
Have you noticed though, that non-skaters ar the ones doing the graffiti ?
My local park is Menai, and the local plebian kids just hang out there and spray it up.. useless kids.
CG's got a damn good point. Local park is bribie and the only ones that graffiti are the little 13 year old rats that use the place to smoke. Dont even do a good job, screwed up Volcom somethin chronic, and the less said about the independant logo the better. No sense, No pride...
