When they resurface the old bowl are they gonna wack some coping on, or just have it rounded off like it used to be?
It would be so sick if it was all smooth with narce pool coping. Definately whatcha.
haha.. Mmm.. bed. For the last 2 nights I've actually slept for more than 3-5 hour stints. Woohoo..
Sorry Jess. I know you were joking, but It's better that I let my thoughts out, rather than brood on em.
If they do put coping on the old bowl, they had better not put any near my roll-in spots. Coping would actually suck in that joint anyway. Sure, it may be fine for grinds, but getting pitched to the bottom if you plug an air is far deadlier than you may think.
Five Dock Rule #1. Don't Fall!
I say keep the rolled lip. We have anough parks with coping. Leave the mother just the way it was built. Kinks and all. Adds to the challenge. You can grind the joint just fine anyway. And the lip is great for wheelers.
Hell yeah, no coping to cope with, specially on those layed back tranny's - Kinky is good' heh-heh-heh
Local knowledge will come into play...lol
Still can't believe we used to air the main wall, one of the most screwed up trannys ever, but how much fun was it...U became a man there, & I dont' mean in the roundhouse with a betty ! lol
Yeah, the rolled lip is rad' - makes ya' feel safe, then it'll pitch ya - look out theres' a wall in front of me (where did that come from ?)lol
Such a shame that the round house no longer acts as a chillout zone. Now we have to invade the grand stand when it rains. I'm not having you lot over my house for pancakes and scones.
might need to bring down a broom when wanting a skate, what with all the bottle smashing fagets who go there
FUCK YEAH! so stoked
i drove past this morning but from the north side of the park and it looked like nothing had happened yet.!
Mick or anyone is there any word on finishing times etc??
guess im gonna have to learn to skate bowl.!
narce
im too psyched
and almost finished the hsc
life is good.
I went up there today to see the most recent plans, but there was no-one in sight. Such a nice warm day for workin too.
I may have an update later this week.
If the rain holds off the coping will be in place tomorrow. Latest from the guy doing all the excavation work is the park may be ready before Christmas.
Christmas?? is one bloke building the park?? why can't it just take a few weeks?
Not that would be any different from the last ones. I'm hoping to shoot a nice timelapse of the construction. I wish I had worked out my camera placements earlier.
With that rain and hail we just had, I'm not sure if the coping will go in tomorrow. If it does I'll take some more pics.
I still don't have copies of the architectural plans, and don't know if I ever will be able to do better than a few photos of them. I'll see how I fare on that front.
Lucky I heard about a meeting with flat head and co this morning. There is a design element that was agreed upon, but thanks to the guy never once contacting me after the initial CAD printouts were done, the element is not in the final plans. I'm working towards getting this being rectified.
As I was watching the first piece of coping being welded in I thought to myself, This is wrong! That piece of coping should be 2 feet higher. I asked the guys to stop work and took them all over to look at the plans, of which there was NO profile drawing for that section.
There is a 9 foot high bowl corner that cuts down to 7. I had to point out where the difference is, and tell them that they had to raise that coping section. Instead of ordering a new coping piece, they are going to cut the end off the high section, and weld it to the low section. So, we now have a coping weld in a spot where there should NOT be one.
Sorry for the crap explenation. It would be so easy to explain if I had some drawings to point to. I'll have to get a 3d model done soon. I should start work on that clay sculpt.
The design is sticking to the basic AutoCAD plan view that I've posted before, which are here..

yeah dodgy builders and councils suck-my local park rockingham in WA when i was younger was supposed to be so nice with 6ft trannys etc-perfectly designed-so 2 days b4 construction began some fuckwit from the insurance sector of the council told them that the premium would be less if the park was 2ft smaller-great idea huh?well they decided to cut off 2 ft of tranny without redesigning the trannies!thus resulting in the mellowest park on earth-well possibly-its a fun park but when you hit the tranny you mayaswell just do a flying mongrel into the fence becausse theres no kick there.place is bmx heaven-dumbasses!lets all tilt a glass to idiots such as these guys!
