I built mine using a few plans plus what I knew I wanted from other mini's I have biult.

The one I have now is:
2274mm wide
2565mm flat
960mm high
1830mm radius trannies.

I painted all the tmber before building mine because the weather is your minis worst enemy.

I am going to make the flat a bit longer as it is a bit quick at the moment.

Inspiration and plans were used from these links:
http://www.xtremeskater.com/minihp.php
http://www.rampplans.org
http://www.rickdahlen.com
http://www.crankbmx.com

All my info came from google, so search the net.
Remeber no plan is perfect, make it your way, if it dosn't work out, change it, its only timber.
Anyway half the fun is building it.

Thanks for starting this thread. I've been scheming some backyard structure for a time now. Even contemplated sculpting dirt and doing crete but if it's wrong no modifs possible. Timber is the go I feel. Ah well now, it's off to work I go (thanks for the links Greg G)

NACCOS- not the mexican fast food but olde fartes who laugh as they roll.

bump, ok i dunno if its been covered, but i aswell am wantin to build a mini, but have some q's, what type of wood do u use for the frame, ramp etc, craig u said u painted them b4 hand? do u mean like colour paint or some type of weather proof clear paint, and also would it be betta to cover it all over with those big blue plastic sheets? any help is greatly appreciated

Frame- 14mm formply
-2x3 lengths are fine, most plans say 2x4 but it is a complete overkill, spaced about 200mm apart.
Surface- 2x layers of 7mm ply
Paint- Anything weather proof, 2 layers of paint roughly 24 hours apart. As much as it would kill you, you should probs leave it for about 12 hrs before skating it after you painted it, (be sure to sweep and wipe wood with a damp cloth to make sure there is no dust on the surface)
Big blue plastic sheets- Completely lost you there.
Measure your locals coping unless you live in anna bay. Cant remember what size i have for my coping but the coping should be done with care. You will understand what i mean with this if you read the plans from www.rickdahlen.com, (gotta cut into the wood so it sticks out a certain amount)
oh and dont stinge on pvc pipe, pay the extra 50 or so bucks for steel coping.

hope i was of some assistance.

tarp

Willisss 21:50 14/Jan/07

haha yes a tarp. Umm yeh i considered it too but it wouldnt be worth the hassel taking it off every time you skate it.. unless it is at a ghetto or something. And it would probably get beads of moisture and stuff under it and go seedy. The ply holds up fairly well once painted and resurfacing isn't a big job later down the track.

ok kool
