hopefully dodgy park builders are a thing of the past with Concrete Skateparks and alike building some really nice stuff.
Old skaters don't slow down they just learn how to make concrete into nicer curves...
Ok.. Time for a few new progress pics I guess.
I love coping! Lots of coping!
This is the small bowl. It's the same radius transition and height of the Monster mini ramp. You can blame Chad for the shape of this thing. I'm calling it the SLOW bowl.
The scaling of this pic didn't go down to well, but if you look on the left to find the surveying thingamajig that you see in the last shot and then to the right where you see the orange fence, you'll get an idea of how big the new bowl is compared to the old. Trust me, it's BIG.
Go back 1 page for more pics.
Mmm.. Nice long grinds from one bowl to the other.
This is something I have wanted ever since Scott Spring built Fairfield mini. A spind sooo long that you can boardslide, grind, air transfer as long and fast as you can go without running out of spine. And on top of that, something which I think is a first in Oz. A bowled/hip spine. YAY!
I think this next one os going to be another first in Oz.
See that high piece of coping? Yes! Well that is going to escelate down from 9 foot to the 7 foot section. The 7 foot high spine is going to meet this 9 foot tall wall in the same manner, by escelating up through the two corners. Just Imagine the lines kids. All the transition radii in the deep bowl are 9 foot.
I can't wait to see how the 9 foot corner and 10 foot oververt elbow are gonna look.
That's right Mike. I design for the big boys. If kids want to play small, they can go ride one of those pissy playpens like Sth Strathield. That things platform doesn't even pass my hips.
Wait till you see how those escelated bowl corners and spine corners look. I just saw em, but didn't have time to shoot pics. It's gonna be soooo rad!
What you're about to see is something that is not final and will be slightly changed so that the angles and smooth grind lines are all perfect. The guy doing the coping didn't like me today. He was a little grumpy about the fuck up and having to do all that work over. This is why I think it is extremely important that all plans be complete and submitted before a site fence even goes up.
Going up? Going down?
